Job Description

Seeking qualified, dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) to join our team of healthcare professionals at our skilled nursing facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete all required record keeping forms/charts upon resident's admission, discharge, transfer, etc.
  • Receive verbal orders from attending/alternate physician and transcribe the physician's order sheet.
  • Initiate resident Plans of Care on admission.
  • Chart TPRs, blood pressures and blood glucose as required.
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as established by the facility's policies and procedures.
  • Review physician order and transfer/pre-admission information for completeness,
  • Prepare/administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Chart licensed nurses in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident's response to the care.
  • Forward new diet orders and/or diet changes to the dietary department.
  • Transcribe physician orders to resident's charts, Medication Administration Records, Treatment Administration Records, and RNA sheets to assure they remain current.
  • Verify the identification of the resident before administering medication or treatment.
  • Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered by the physician.
  • Assure that narcotic records are current at all times.
  • Check resident charts for specific treatment, medication orders and schedules daily.
  • Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum and urine specimens.
  • Make rounds with physician and assist with examination and treatment.
Requirements:
  • Current LVN licensure in the State of California
  • Preferred prior experience at a skilled nursing facility
  • Compassion for the elderly and commitment to hospitality and service
  • Ability to remain patient and kind in difficult circumstances, ability to remain calm in emergencies
  • Ability to maintain confidential and private information
